I loved the show. I’m not quite as critical as Jesse & Shotgun who liked the show but pointed out some things I didn’t notice. I liked that there wasn’t a host, I don’ think awards shows need the bad pre written jokes and banter. It slows things down tremendously. Not having a real host leaves more time for performances, which all rocked last night. I think it was classy, most dressed more appropriately, were respectful of the format and fans, and winners seemed genuinely appreciative. We all know CMAs can be very political, but I think all winners were very deserving and I didn’t feel like anyone pulled out an award they didn’t earn. Likes:
- Carrie Underwood’s big yellow dress she performed in, only it made me wonder how long it took for someone to lay it out
- Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler wearing short, black, sequined dresses- proof to Jesse & Shotgun my homecoming dress was awesome and in style.
- Taylor Swift’s arm socks
- The break dancing band guy on stage during Brad Paisley’s “Online” performance
- Big N Rich’s outfits, bootie girls and in your face performance of “Loud”
- Kate Walsh sounded like she popped some muscle relaxers before presenting (not a fan)
- The fit of Jason Aldean’s jeans… yum, and wallet chain
- Josh Turner’s ssssssssssssss, bang at the end of his song “Firecracker”
- Dierks Bentley’s soft, baby blonde short curls and hiccup reading the prompter
- Little Big Town perfoming “Boondocks”, still love that song everytime
- Kimberly Williams-Paisley… cute as a button
- LOVED: Kellie Pickler’s performance and her break down. I think it was absolutely genuine and moving no matter what anyone says. I was brought to tears
- The fact that Martina McBride wore a skinny tie. hahahaha, Next year add a fanny pack.
Dislikes:
- Jessica Simpson posing everytime she realized she was on camera
- Jo Don of Rascal Flatts was the only one to NOT thank his wife.
- The Eagles performance. I like the song, but they were reminiscent of the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show- standing stiff and strumming
- KENNY CHESNEY’S PANTS
- Kellie Pickler’s hair do change for her perfomance of “I Wonder”
- Jennifer Nettles faces during her “Stay” performance (love the song though and she rocked it)
- Alison Krauss
- Kate Walsh presenting, and wearing black and brown together. She was a bad pick, seemed pompous to be in Nashville
